Car rear-ends truck killing two in Constantia Kloof

The driver of the truck escaped injury.

Two men died and another was injured on Monday morning when a light motor vehicle rear-ended a truck at the intersection of Hendrik Potgieter and Jim Fouche roads in Constantia Kloof.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics found the bodies of two men lying trapped in the front of the light motor vehicle.

“Unfortunately, both men had sustained numerous, fatal injuries. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead on the scene,” said Meiring.

A third man, who was injured, was found lying in the rear of the vehicle. He was treated before being taken to Lenmed Hospital.

The driver of the truck escaped injury.

Local authorities are investigating.
